LOCAL ART & CULTURAL GROUPS TO JOIN

There are just so many ways that you can become involved in the "arts" in our area.  Here is a list of groups and organisations in our local and surrounding area that you might like to explore.   In all cases you should contact the people listed if you want more information, as the Parish Councils have no involvement with the running or the administration of any of these groups.

Binfield Art Group

The Binfield Art Group meets every Tuesday at the Binfield Club in the village centre from 10 to 12 am. Membership numbers are limited to15 painters. We are often fully subscribed ( there is a waiting list ). Open to Binfield Club members.

  •  Art Teacher: Jane Williams. Jane presents a new challenge each week . She first gives a demonstration and then gives each student advice on completing their own painting.
  •  Work : Painting in Acrylic, Water Colour, Pastel, Pen & Ink.
  • This term (2018) we have had sessions on:Farm buildings in English, French and Italian landscapes. Country Villages. Still Life. Life drawing and painting. The Female Nude. Animals. Portraits.  Seascapes.

Each term Jane asks the students for their suggestions for future projects.

There are no classes during term holidays but we meet as a group and paint.

The Ascot Art Group

A group of local artists, who simply get together to paint, and to enjoy the company of other artists. New members are always welcome.

  • Meeting in the North Ascot Community Centre, Fernbank Road, North Ascot SL5 8LA
  • When: Tuesday evenings at 7.00 pm
  • Fees £40 for twelve weeks, payable at the start of each term.
  • This is non-profit making and all fees are used for the members

Rendezvous Renoirs Art Classes

Brilliant , friendly, inspiring art classes led by local artist Aurora Spain in acrylics, silk painting, inks, watercolour, mixed media and more. Join us to learn techniques, colour theory and good composition.  Explore and experiment with different media and have fun on your creative journey.  Small friendly group.  All abilities welcome.

  • When: Wednesday's 11.30 til 1.30pm
  • Fees: £145 per 10 week term.

Windsor Artists Collective

A by invitation lively and interactive group for experienced artists to meet other like minded artists interested in developing their creative approaches and techniques

We meet monthly to bounce creative ideas off each other; to critique our latest work; and to challenge our very ideas on art.  There are no art lessons or tutors.

We also enthusiastically seek-out opportunities to exhibit and sell our work, organising exhibitions every month at various locations in the local area. There is a waiting list for new members.

  • Meets at Carnation Hall, Chavey Down Rd, RG42 7PA once a month on a Monday 7-9.00pm. We do not paint at our meetings we discuss our art, all art and benefit from mutual advice.
  • £25 per year plus any expenses associated with participation in an exhibition

U3A Watercolour Group

There are a number of art groups within the U3A but as the name suggests this group only uses watercolour paint, no gouache etc. The Group is of mixed ability and experience. There are no courses or formal tuition but help and advice is given on an informal basis and we help each other.  Annual membership of Bracknell Forest U3A is required before joining any of the U3A interest groups.

  • Meet at a studio at South Hill Park Arts Centre, Ringmead, Bracknell RG12 7PA
  • When: Alternate Wednesday afternoons throughout the year.
  • Fees:  In addition to the annual U3A membership [about £11 PA] we pay a session fee of around £2.

U3A Mixed Media Group

  • Meet at Studio 3 at South Hill Park Arts Centre, Ringmead, Bracknell RG12 7PA
  • When: Every Wednesday. One week 9.30 to 1pm following week 1.30 to 4.30pm . This is because of the availability of the room.
  • Fees/Costs: It is necessary to join the U3A Bracknell at an annual cost of currently £12.99 per annum. The weekly cost is £2.00 as and when you attend.

Sera Knight Art Classes

Tutoring for watercolour painting with class demonstrations at each meeting with Sera Knight SWA. Other media is also welcome and will receive assistance and guidance. Anyone wanting to paint slowly and gradually is also welcome.

Virginia Water Art Society

We Hold monthly evening meetings to watch Professional painters demonstrate using all mediums, with a camera and projector for large screen displays enabling the audience to see close ups. We also offer several all-day workshops at cost, painting with professional tutors;  2 exhibitions per year;  coach outings to art related venues at cost;  painting days for practice.

  • When: Every 1st Wednesday in the Month (except December) from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Interval with refreshments including raffle. 
  • Subscriptions £30 annual subscription plus £2 for members attending a meeting & £5 for visitors. Workshops, outings and painting days are at cost.

Runnymede Art Society

Art Group for painting in all media and drawing. Meetings include demonstrations and tutor groups, on an occasional basis, with a programme of outdoor painting during the summer months. We hold two major exhibitions a year usually held in the United Egham Church in Egham High Street. Some of our members will accept commissions.

The Binfield Craft Cafe

The Binfield Craft Café is a community space for people of all ages and abilities to learn a new craft, share some of their crafting ideas by teaching others a new craft, all the while enjoying a cuppa something hot and maybe even a piece of cake... all in the good company of fellow crafters.

Art classes in Fifield

The Fifield Art group will be resuming lessons after the summer break on Monday 2nd September 2019, 10.30 till noon & 3 pm till 5 and Tuesday 3rd, 3 pm till 5 and 7 pm till 9. we cater for all levels of painting from complete beginners to fully fledged artists.
  • Where: In the Jubilee room at the rear of The Braywood War Memorial Hall in Fifield Village
  • Cost: £6.00 for a two hour session and I provide all the materials you will need plus a nice cup of tea or coffee during the lesson.

St Peter's Church Chat & Craft Group

A social group to enjoy a wide range of hands on Craft activites and board games such as Scrabble, Chess and Bridge

Cranbourne Amateur Dramatic Society [CADS]

We are a friendly and successful local AmDram group that puts on a variety of plays from comedy to the more serious and always welcome new members whether it is to act or to help behind the scenes. We usually put on two productions a year - in April and October at St Peter's Church Hall, Hatchet Lane, Cranbourne, Winkfield. Our Members' social calendar includes walks, picnics, pub nights, themed evenings and visits to other local productions/shows. We also offer Coaching workshops on character development, voice and projection.

  •  When/Where: Our regular rehearsal nights are Tuesdays at St Peter’s Church Hall with an additional rehearsal night usually on Mondays also at the hall.

Stagecoach Bracknell North

At Stagecoach Bracknell North, we provide quality training in singing, acting and dancing for children aged between 4 - 18 years.  Our aim is to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere in which children can really thrive in both skill, and confidence! The Bracknell Forest Society, Bracknell Forest's Civic Society (formed in 2007) is a politically independent organisation and aims to celebrate Bracknell Forest - its green spaces, its vibrant towns and community and to encourage residents to take pride in where we live.  We are represented on several local committees where we can make your voice heard on matters concerning health, the environment, history, planning and faiths & beliefs.

Bracknell Camera Club

Bracknell Camera Club (formed 1954) is one of the foremost photographic clubs in the home counties. We are respected for the quality of images our members create as well as being renowned for the friendly environment that exists throughout the club. Bracknell Camera Club welcomes members of all photographic standards, from complete beginners to professionals. A camera club is an excellent place for novices to learn. We make you feel at home and whatever your level of skill, from simple compact cameras to the latest DSLRs, you will receive advice and encouragement from a wealth of experience that the club members have to offer. Some members specialise in technical or photographic genre, and are happy to give informal advice.
